The mission of the Milksheds Blog is to bridge understanding of the worldwide milk delivery system from cows to consumption for both farmers and urban neighbors.  It will focus on explanations of how current topics and big business decisions in the dairy industry affect our children’s milk future, along with the dairy industry’s effect on local economies and sustainability of family farms.  We will incorporate various facets of the worldwide milkshed, ranging from farmers to consumers, from artisanal cheeses to mass-merchandised dairy products, to specific consumer questions.  The blog is written by a dairy cow owner whose family farm raises grain for other dairy herds, and who has extensive experience in agricultural communications, value-added farm business development, and agritourism.  This blog is edited and authored and by Julia G. Walker, AgriVoice Enterprises, and may sometimes feature guest posts by others.
